Final Japan Post

Can't believe it's all over.  Just sitting in Austin reflecting on a perfect two weeks.  The last couple of days were packed so I'm just now getting a chance to post.  Our final day in Shonoi was busy with two soccer games.  The first match was against Shonai high school.  It was a fun game with a final score of 1 - 0 (SSTX).  Our second game was against the state champions and what a game.  We knew this would be our toughest but it was also by far our best performance.  We competed well over-all and had to deal with the most complete team we have seen in youth soccer in some years.  We battled hard and in the end came away losing 2 - 0 but with our heads held high.  Final goodbyes with host families.  Our last night in Tokyo with a special meal at Gonpachi (famous for a scene in Kill Bill).  The food was great.  After dinner Karao...

Japan Day 8 (I think).

Our days are running together at the moment :).  Things are still wonderful here.  We had a very eventful day yesterday with a sweet presentation from the elementary school.  Our boys are super stars here.  The 5th graders had a very interactive morning with our kids.  It was very heartwarming and such a great experience for all of us.   We felt very privileged to watch the traditional Kenjutsu with some of the top kids in this area.  It was pretty incredible.  And our kids had the opportunity at the end to try it.  another fantastic day.  We are headed to another soccer match now. I will update more this evening.
